1947

Established as a synthetic jewelry manufacturing company.
Head office: Kobiki-cho, Chuo-ku, Tokyo.
Plant: Kosugaya, Totsuka-ku, Yokohama.

1960
Head office moved to Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo.
1970
Started production of sapphire watch windows.
1980
Jointly established Rubyca Industry with Japan Carbide Industry.
1987
Entered the optical communication area.
1989
Started sales of single crystal substrates for superconductive thin films
1994
Head office moved to Kyobashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo.
1995
Started sales of sapphire substrates for blue LEDs.
1997

ISO9001 certification for DNV
Won the Kanagawa Industrial and Technological Development Award for the development of oxide single crystal step substrates

2001

Head office moved to Kosugaya, Sakae-ku, Yokohama.
Sakudaira Plant operation started.

2002

Tochigi Factory operation started.
Won the Kanagawa Industrial and Technological Development Award for the development of small optical monitor modules.

2003

ISO9001 (2000 version)
Sakudaira Plant closed and merged with Head office.
Tochigi Factory renamed to Tochigi Plant.

2004
Started sales of optical fiber sensor.
2006
Selected as one of "Introducing 300 of Japan's Dynamic Monodzukuri (Manufacturing) SME's Supporting the Japan of Tomorrow" by Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
